Years ago in Israel I bought a lovely glossy photographic map of the land. It’s a computer-enhanced satellite image that is 13″ wide x 38″ tall. The back side has the same image, but with modern roads. (Click on map to enlarge.)
They are made in Israel and are not in US stores. So I had some shipped to my office in the States, because they a really nice resource if you have visited the Land or teach classes. They also look great on a wall.
You can see fine details in topography, as well as desert and green areas. For instance, you can see that Bethlehem lies just on the rain shadow, at the edge of the desert. This shows how David could have shepherded his flocks near where Ruth and Boaz harvested a field. (Normally shepherds stayed in the drier, mountainous areas.)
You can buy a single-sided version of this map on Amazon for $47.50, but I’m making them available for $24.99. To order, use the button below (US orders only, sorry). They are sent rolled. As my gift, I’ll include free first-class shipping.
