Here’s more information about our talks:

The Jewish Roots of Christianity

What would it have been like to journey back to the first century and sit at the feet of Jesus as one of his Jewish disciples? How would your understanding of the gospel have been shaped by the customs, beliefs, and traditions of the Jewish culture in which you lived? Ann Spangler and Lois Tverberg, authors of Sitting at the Feet of Rabbi Jesus, will give you a taste of how understanding more about the Jewish context of Jesus’ words and life can enliven your understanding of your faith.

The Passover-Easter Connection

During the second week Ann and Lois will explore the Passover-Easter Connection. Jews celebrate Passover during the same season that Christians remember the resurrection of Christ on Easter. Understanding more about the ancient feast that commemorates the Exodus from Egypt, can shed surprising light on Jesus’ death and resurrection. Lois will share how Jesus used the traditions of Passover in the Last Supper, and how the details of first-century Passover festivities in Jerusalem shed light on Jesus’ arrest, death, and resurrection
