First of all, thank you for this article, Dr. Tverberg.
I don’t think I realized how many connections the old testament has that connect with this part of Jesus’ story. I had not considered Jeremiah 23 in connection, and how the image of the shepherd and his sheep could have to do with Jesus coming to be the true shepherd and get rid of corrupt, destructive leaders. I loved the image of Jesus coming to build a new temple without hands, to create a body of one for the church-the people at Pentecost symbolizing this.

We see a fulfilled prophecy in Jeremiah, I find it odd that God destroyed the temple when there was corrupt leadership. When we trust in God he will provide for us, and even take out any corruption. He has the power to do much more than us on earth. When the believers came to the temple it was filled with heavy spirits, and God was there for them when they were good.
