Mrs. Tverberg,
I've often seen data on both sides of the argument saying that global warming is an over-exaggeration, and that it's a very prevalent danger. I've always thought about it in terms of how it would affect my future, I've never thought of it as an act of love towards a neighbor, thank you for opening that insight for me. Similarly I've never thought about it as a spiritual act of love towards God, I think now I'll be convicted to put the soda can in the recycling bin not the trash container.

I fully agree with your statements. We as Christians are to be good stewards of all that our Lord gives. But i would like to say that this Green business—- and i mean business in every sense of the word. We have too many politicians who see this as a great golden calf that can be exploited by them. Of course all they want to do is to help us and the environment. We all know what that means. Second I would just say what about Revelation 21:1 “And i saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.” I see this as a way for huge corporations to make more money at our expense. We all know what drives or represenitives. Let’s not be hood winked here.

Lois,

You are spot on with this one! I love hearing more about the Jewish ethic towards the creation. I too have many friends who are conservative that are frustrated by the green issue and feel like i have been brainwashed by liberalism :) I just tell them that God loves what he made from the beginning, so much that he died for all of it! Thanks for giving me more to think about as i build my own theology of ecology…

I agree with your position here. If God made Adam the steward in the garden to care for all its creatures, animal and plant, and we are sons of Adam and daughters of Eve how can we not continue in our own way to care for this earth?
Secondly, Yeshua is coming back to set up his Kingdom here, so HaShem can live among us, why would we not make this place the most welcoming possible? Taking care of our environment would bring him pleasure and prepare the place for our King.
