I’ll be speaking two times at the 2012 Hebraic Roots Conference in Minneapolis on November 1-3. The conference is sponsored by Good News for Israel and will be held at St. Michael’s Church, 9201 Normandale Boulevard in Bloomington, MN.
Here are the descriptions of my talks:
God’s Wise Hebrew Words
The Bible’s Hebrew words are aromatic and savory from the dusty, ancient land of their origin. Each one is an over-stuffed suitcase, wider and deeper than its English equivalent. Discovering just a few aspects of the Bible’s Hebrew “accent” will give you new tools for unlocking God’s Word.
How to Have a Kosher Mouth
Jesus certainly ate kosher. But he declared that it’s not what goes in, but what comes out of our mouths that renders our hearts unclean. Like many rabbis, he emphasized the importance of avoiding lashon hara – an evil tongue. What wisdom can they teach us about improving what comes out of our lips?
Admission is free. See the conference website for more information.
I spoke at this conference last year. You can hear one of the presentations I gave at this link: Jesus’ Habit of Hinting (In this talk I discuss Jesus’ classically Jewish teaching method of alluding to his Bible – our Old Testament – as he taught. I point out how Jesus makes some of his most powerful messianic claims this way!)
