[UPDATE] Due to COVID-19, the service was held online. You can watch a recording of the service here (my part starts at 12:14).
Christ Memorial Church in Holland, Michigan has asked me to be the speaker for their Good Friday service on Friday April 10, 2020 at 7 PM. We will be meditating on the events of the past twenty-four hours of Jesus’ life, from the Last Supper until his death on the cross.
I will be speaking on Christ’s words at the Last Supper that we celebrate at every communion service about the “New Covenant for the forgiveness of sin.” What does these critical words mean? They are a puzzle for many Christians.
Ironically, about 15 years ago at Christ Memorial Church I helped set up a Passover Seder before this very same service, and the events of that evening led to me to re-think the events of Jesus’ Passion. I wrote about it in the chapter called “A Passover Discovery” in Sitting at the Feet of Rabbi Jesus. Read more at the link.

Will the Holland Mich. event be recorded and shared in anyway?

So glad that this will be online. I look forward to hearing you speak, especially on this topic. By the way, your new blog format looks really fresh and inviting. Thank you so much for the information that you so generously share. It is so balanced and simple enough for anyone to benefit, yet, so profound that it has the potential of great depth and mystery of our awesome God because of your skills and experience in the scholarly world of the Hebrew scriptures. Thank you for opening the door wider for believers to appreciate God’s Word by understanding it in the proper Hebrew context. We need more and more training in Hebraic literacy of the Bible. Praying for you.
