Hot off the presses!

Announcing my new ebook:

5 Hebrew Words Cover

5 Hebrew Words
that Every Christian Should Know

A friendly, bite-sized Bible study of five flavorful Hebrew words.

In this introductory word study, readers get a taste of the ancient wisdom of Hebrew, the Bible’s heart-language, and see how useful it can be for reading both Old and New Testaments.

Along the way they’ll uncover delightful word-plays that simply don’t translate into English, and find out how Hebrew unlocks mysteries like…

…how people can have ears but not “hear”

…how (or if) God can “forget” a person

…how sins can be “visited” upon someone

Through the book’s brief lessons, 5 Hebrew Words broadly introduces the idea that Bible study is far richer when the Scriptures are read in light of their original language and culture. The intended audience is the intelligent Christian who is interested and involved in Bible study, whether or not they have any background in Hebraic studies.

Why is it an ebook?

5 Hebrew Words is formatted as an ebook in order to link readers to Bible verses in multiple translations online. With a bit of guided comparison of verses and translations, readers can get a sense of a word’s range of meaning and see why translators made the choices they did. With a printed book, this isn’t possible. Owners of the book have permission to print a copy for personal study and note-taking. It’s 46 pages, PDF formatted to be viewable on any laptop or ipad and most ebook readers.

Just $3.99!

(Inexpensive because you supply the paper.)

Only available at OurRabbiJesus.com.

What’s the Hebrew work for Thank you?! I left the well of your Godly wisdom for a while, but God has brought me back and Wow, or Hebrewishly, (haha ) Hallelujah! I am new to the language and am eager to study much more with the resources you have written and provide. I am reading your commentaries as of this evening and just finished the “who do you serve ” article and if conviction makes one feel as if one deserves to be pummeled with rocks as in a stoning then I was convicted but also made to realize my master took my stoning. Hallelujah! Worship/ serve/work for/slave to–with Thanksgiving! Thank you Lois for demonstrating the blessings of a being a slave–alive and free in Christ!

This a very useful book I used it this morning in my small men’s group to discuss the concept of fear YRH and it’s practical application in day to day living.

I just finished this morning the book. I have decided I need to do deeper studying into word meanings after reading the book. I really liked the chapter “Pakad” so much in that I did not know. Thank you

Is there a particular reason why This is only an ebook? for a couple of personal reasons I cannot and will not use money on line. I have a few ladies in my Bible study group who absolutely love this book. I love going to the original Henrew and Greek meanings to better understand what is being said. Is there a possibility of this book being published? I am very certain there would be many people who do not know of your work who would jump at the chance of buying this book if they saw it on a bookshelf.
Love your two books, and have given the first one as gifts to people. Have only recently purchased the second one. Only because I saw it on a bookshelf at my local Christian book store. Blessings to you Lois.

Yes, there’s a specific reason it’s an ebook. As I explained in the description, ebooks have a property that printed books do not — they allow me to link readers to Bible study websites online. I spent a lot of time putting links in to let readers study specific verses in various Bible translations online. That’s the whole point, and it can’t be done in a printed book. The book is not “waiting” to be published. It needs to be online, and here it is.

Did you notice that people who buy the ebook have my permission to print themselves a copy for note-taking? That way you can have both the ebook and a printed version – you just need to supply the paper.
