Next book close to done

After months of being underground (literally, in my basement office) to work on writing, I’m getting close to done with the next book. It’s called

Walking in the Way of Rabbi Jesus
How His Jewish Words Can Change your Life

pagesIt follows up on Sitting at the Feet of Rabbi Jesus and goes deeper, into the world of Jewish thought. Sitting was an introduction to Jewish culture that sheds light on Jesus’ reality, with chapters on Jewish prayer, biblical feasts, Torah, and the rabbi/disciple relationship.

Walking in the Way of Rabbi Jesus goes deeper, exploring the context of Jesus’ words. It looks at some of Jesus’ ideas and idioms that have deeper meaning within Jewish thought. It also asks, what if we read God’s Word through Jesus’ eyes?

The overall theme is that hearing Jesus’ words in their Eastern context yields insight for applying them to our lives today. The book is specifically oriented toward discipleship, asking what difference does it make that Jesus was Jewish for how we “walk” as his disciples nowadays?

The book will be published by Zondervan in early 2012. But I’ll be sharing a few sneak peeks here in the months to come.

I still have some editing and revising to do. Your prayers are always welcome for the Lord’s help and inspiration.

So excited to hear this! Congratulations on it being almost complete! It will be a wonderful complement to Sitting at the Feet….Lois, have you and Ann considered doing tours or events around the country? I think many would want to come and see and hear from you both firsthand.
    Blessings and shalom

I cannot wait, Lois! ‘Sitting…’ has had an enormous impact on my personal study, not to mention some of my friends as well. I’ve had the privilege of giving several messages regarding Mary’s nard offering within my music ministry. I refer to your book at the end of my message reading part of your text. (If you’re interested… it takes about 30 minutes

People continue to be amazed how the Jewish cultural context opens up the meaning of Scripture far beyond what they can imagine. So hurry, please! ‘Walking…’ cannot come soon enough. I am so grateful for your book and your expertise. A huge blessing.

Sitting at the Feet of Rabbi Jesus has been such a huge blessing to me and my husband! I can’t stop recommending it to others. I have bought MANY copies to give to friends. In fact, I am starting a study of it in my home tonight, along with the study/discussion guide you so generously provided.
Thank you for all you do for God and His people!

I was so moved when I completed reading Walking in the Dust of Rabbi Jesus. I felt as if our Father had sat down to especially teach me. Understanding the Jewish perspective opens the scriptures in a way that simply reading the words over and over does not do. The heart of the teachings come alive. Knowing this perspective compels a desire to increased obedience. Thank you for this book. I am sitting down to read it again.
