I recently added three posts on my speaking page about upcoming events where I will be presenting this fall.
If you live in Michigan or Minnesota, I hope you can come and join me!
Even if you don’t, I’ll be speaking online too.
CMJ UK Online Shofar Event – Wed. Sept. 13, 2023
I will be speaking online for CMJ UK‘s next Shofar Event. (CMJ-UK is a British ministry that teaches Christians about their Jewish roots.)
The title of my talk is:
Mind the Gap:
The Culture Gap Between Us and Our Bibles
Modern readers struggle to understand our Bibles. Why? Because a gap in time and culture separates the Western world from the ancient Middle East. I will share many helpful cultural tips to help my audience read their Bibles better.
I’ll be speaking at 2:00 PM Eastern Time / 7:00 PM UK Time. You can reserve your ticket here and a link will be emailed to you.
If you would like to see a brief video intro to my talk, visit the post on my speaking page.
Resonate Discipleship Conference – Sat., Sept. 23, 2023
Lighthouse Community Church in Kalamazoo, Michigan is hosting the RESONATE Discipleship Conference on Saturday September 23 from to 9 AM-4:30 PM.
The key presenters for the day will be myself and Gary Burge (New Testament professor, Calvin University). We will both explore New Testament passages in light of their context, and see how this can deepen our grasp of what it means to be a disciple of Christ.
You are welcome to join us! Hurry – the registration fee is lowest before August 27. For more information on speakers and schedule click here.
Camp Lebanon Women’s Retreat – Oct. 6-8, 2023
I will be speaking in Minnesota at Camp Lebanon for their 2023 Fall Women’s Retreats. The retreat theme is
Astonished and Amazed!
For two weekends (9/29-10/1 and 10/6-8) I will be speaking Friday evening, Saturday morning and evening, as well as Sunday morning.
My focus will be on some of the most amazing things I’ve learned about Jesus from his Jewish setting that have practical implications for how we live today. Things like what it meant to be a disciple in the first century, the richness of Jewish prayer, and how to have a “kosher mouth.” Many rich insights await! You can find out more information on their flyer.
My understanding is that the first weekend has already been filled to capacity, but the second weekend (10/6-8) has some open spots. To attend this event you must register, which you can do so here.
Once again, you can keep up with all upcoming events by checking my speaking page. I also post on social media (Facebook, Twitter (X) and LinkedIn) too.

If my talks are available online later, I usually post about them on my blog here and in my email newsletters. You can follow me on Facebook and see them there too, but don’t rely on Facebook sharing everything I put up with you, usually it doesn’t.
Best advice: sign up for my email and check my blog here.
(PS: You can look at my old blogs and find links to talks I gave in the past, if you’re interested.)
